Brownston’s spring exhibition with selected members of the South West Academy has
become one of the gallery’s annual highlights. Each Academician brings something new and fresh to the collection and together present a fantastic showcase of high calibre painting talent.
Inspired by the beautiful scenery, stunning locations on land and sea, this annual exhibition is a great introduction to the wide range of differing styles of painting from Brownston’s artists, from the gentle watercolours of David Norman to the bold brush strokes of Zoe Hyde, from the bold and zany portraits by Geoff Shillito and Carolyn King to the beautiful landscapes from Phil Creek and Alison Summerfield, and finally the striking work by Marcelle Milo-Grey, is sure to make you smile.

Five go to Lyme…
…are all smiles after their first exhibition as a group in the bright and spacious Malt House Gallery Town Mill in Lyme Regis. The Five plan to be back at Town Mill next year, and in the meantime are looking for another sizeable venue. Despite the exhibition opening on the day a hike in interest rates was announced, visitors‘interest in purchasing paintings was not diminished. A variety of styles, processes and applications made this a most interesting and enjoyable ten days for both artists and visitors alike - and their ‘guest book’ is testament to this.
Pippa Rex, operations manager at the Mill said,"I am delighted with the energy the exhibition brought to the gallery, the extra footfall benefits the entire community”.
